Our annual summer event took place again this year. With beautiful weather, we met at Augsburg’s Kuhsee to spend a fun-filled afternoon together.
After we arrived, we first picked up some cold drinks at the kiosk and then looked for a suitable spot for our planned tournament. Once everything was set up, the participants were divided into two teams. Then the competition could begin.
We kicked things off with a round of charades. This required creativity, quick thinking, and good teamwork. Next up was boules. Both teams tried to place their balls as close as possible to the jack to score important points toward the overall standings.

After the first two games, we took a short break. This gave us time for more drinks, conversation, and a little rest before moving on to the next item on the agenda.
Next up was a Kahoot quiz with interesting trivia questions. Everyone got to test their general knowledge and learn a new fact or two along the way. For example, did you know that the Great Barrier Reef is considered the largest living structure on Earth?
After that, it was back to sports. The two teams faced off in Kubb. Since the first round ended quite quickly due to the king being hit too early, we played a second round right away. After all, the king can only be hit at the very end; otherwise, the game is lost.

Another highlight was the Pedalo Challenge. At Kuhsee, there was a Pedalo mounted on rails, and everyone was first able to take a short test lap. After that, the time was recorded. Anyone who held onto the railing received additional penalty seconds. So, in addition to speed, dexterity was also required.
To wrap up the tournament, we played a few rounds of Jeopardy. Here, the teams had one last chance to demonstrate their knowledge and earn more points. After the scores were tallied, the awards ceremony took place, complete with small prizes, and the winning team was celebrated in style.
After the athletic and entertaining part of the day, we headed to the nearby boathouse. With a beautiful view of Kuhsee, we rounded out the evening together with delicious food and good conversation. There was time for personal chats, but also for discussing topics from our daily work lives—topics for which there’s often little room in our regular work routine.
Once again this year, our summer event was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together away from the daily grind, get to know each other better, and strengthen our team spirit. Through the games we played together, the small competition, and the relaxed conclusion at the boathouse, we not only shared many laughs but also grew even closer as a team.
